Time to Blog

It has been a long time! I have been using Facebook to upload current pictures of what the Dalmacio's have been up to and I've neglected this blog. However, I am going to take a year long break from Facebook and Twitter. Therefore, I should have plenty of time to keep everyone updated on what we're up to on here.
I am not going to go back and try to update you on everything. You can look at my Facebook account for that. I'm just going to move forward from this past weekend.
I attended my soon-to-be SIL Mindy's bridal shower. My other two sister-in-law's threw Mindy a tea party shower. It was very beautiful and fun! We had decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and head out to celebrate the bachelorette immediately after the shower. Our evening was spent in Scottsdale at Sushi Roku and a couple lounges/clubs. Everyone had a good time!

Catch-up Part 2: Baseball

Andrew is in Coach Pitch baseball this year. Jeremy is coaching his team, as well as Jeremy's friends, Manuel and Bill. Andrew's so happy because their son's, Brysen and Ty are on his team, too.
JJ and I enjoy watching the games and haven't missed a single one!

Here's some of the team at a high school baseball game. This was their "practice" one Thursday. Jeremy wanted them to see the older boys playing. After the game, the team got to meet the high school players and coaches. The high school players signed baseballs for each child; they thought that was so cool!

Coach Dalmacio and Andrew.

Our Little League Division had a special night at an ASU game where the kids were able to meet the players and coaches and go out on the field for the National Anthem. We purchased the general admission lawn seats and it was great to watch the game and let the boys run around and play.

Andrew is doing well this season. He really has to work on his batting, but when he practices, he can hit well. He does very well in the field. One of his favorite positions is first base and he does great there. I can't believe how far he has come in just 3 seasons of playing. I am really proud of him!

Catch-up Part 1: J.J.

6 Months
JJ weighed 19.8 pounds and was 28.5 inches long at his 6 month check-up.

This month he mastered sitting up and rolling over.

We took a vacation to northern Nevada; we drove 15 hours each way. JJ did so well in the car. I know it's because his big brother was in the backseat to keep him company.

JJ wears size 9-12 months clothing and size 3 diapers. He eats 3 baby foods a day now (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and he drinks 6 oz. bottles about 5-6 times a day.

7 Months

This month, JJ weighed in at 21 pounds.

He had his first swimming pool adventure at Andrew's friend's birthday party. He wasn't too sure about the water. He kept quietly saying "ah" "ah" "ah" like he was about to cry, but he never did.

This month, JJ began to figure out if he keeps rolling, he can go places. So, that's what he sometimes does. He gets a few feet and then starts fussing for someone to just pick him up and take him somewhere.

Also, this month, JJ has began to get bored in his crib. From day one I have laid him down for bed and naps while he is still awake so he can learn to fall asleep without needing to be rocked or already asleep. This month, he has figured out how to untie the bumper and pull it away from the crib. He likes to pull the bumper down on him and then fall asleep. Pretty funny!

He is such a good, happy baby and we are really enjoying watching him and helping him discover new things.

5 Months Old

Look who's 5 months old today!! It's J.J.!!!
He is just the cutest and happiest baby since Andrew!
He weighs 19 pounds!!
It's rare to catch a glimpse of him sans dimples, but here's what he looks like without them.
Here he's laughing without laughing. It's actually hard to get a giggle out of him, but he always looks like he's laughing when he is just smiling.
He wears size 6-9 months clothes, but he is outgrowing that size very quickly. He is in size 3 diapers. He eats 6 oz. of formula before bed and when he wakes up in the morning and he'll eat 5 oz. of formula still throughout the day. He has one jar of baby food a day at dinner time. He has only had vegetables and oatmeal so far. He loves it all!
This week he really started taking control of his bottle. He does so good holding it himself, but it is really hard to pry it out of his hands when it is gone. He'll just suck on the air in the bottle as long as we'll let him.

4 Months Old

On December 27th baby J turned 4 months old! He's a chunky monkey! He weighed in at 17.1 pounds and was 27.5 inches long! The doctor asked me if he was rolling over yet and I said no. She said that he is a big boy so it will take him longer than other babies to roll over. I thought that was pretty funny. Poor baby! He loves taking baths - he is starting to kick and splash in the water.
He was cleared to start eating baby food once a day. We started him with oatmeal. The first 2 days he was a little unsure, but on the 3rd day he was used to it and was really chowing down. Next, we did 3 days of peas, then 3 days of carrots, then 3 days of green beans. So far he's liked them all and gets really mad if we take too long to feed him.

He thinks he is so big now!!
Andrew passed on his favorite blanket (aka cookie monster) to J.J. Andrew says he is too big for it and now J.J. can have it. J.J. loves it!
J.J. loves to play with his toes. He can occupy himself with his feet for a long time! It's so cute!!
I love this little outfit! He looks like such a big boy to me.
And here's his new favorite toy. He really enjoys playing with all the toys and he is starting to jump a little in it.
J.J. wears size 6-9 month clothes and he is barely fitting in his size 2 diapers any more. When this last pack is done, he will move into size 3.
He is sleeping through the night from about 9:30 pm-7:00 am. He still has a 5 ounce bottle every 3 hours and he eats one whole jar of level 1 baby food every night.
He has rolled over from his stomach to his back about 4 or 5 times in the last week. He gets a little scared, but we clap and cheer for him and that makes him give us a little unsure smile.
He adores Andrew and giggles anytime Andrew pays attention to him. He always has lots of handsome smiles for his momma and he gets really happy and kicks his legs in excitement when he sees his daddy.
It's so much fun to have a baby around again!

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 was so much fun! We have a new addition to our family to make the holidays even more special!
Here he is - J.J. with one of his favorite toys!
Here's the boys in their Christmas pajamas.

Here's the boys in their Christmas finest. Andrew ate a blue candy cane just before I took their picture...
On Christmas Eve, we went to my parent's house to open gifts. Here we are getting ready to tear into all those gifts!
Andrew loves anything Star Wars!
Here's the favorite toy I mentioned earlier.
I was trying to take a good picture of J.J. with the tree behind him. Neither the tree nor J.J. were cooperating. =0)
Here's the boys opening their Christmas Eve pajamas that you saw earlier.
Here's another attempt at getting a good picture of J.J. near the Christmas tree. Again, no cooperation. Naughty boy. =0)
Andrew's putting cookies out for Santa.
J.J. is too sleepy to care about cookies. He just wants his favorite toy.
Good thing Andrew was looking out for the both of them and left cookies for Santa. He came by and left some goodies for them in return. Here's the stockings.
Yes, that is a pink Bumbo chair J.J. is in. Luckily, he was a good boy this year so we got him a green one for Christmas. He just hasn't opened that gift prior to this picture...
Santa brought Andrew a Dippin' Dots maker. We tried it and it wasn't so great. Bummer. I guess we'll just have to buy the real stuff in the future.
Here's the green Bumbo chair! J.J. looks a little overwhelmed by the size of that gift for him.
Here's Andrew in one of his favorite gifts; a Badger snuggie.
I love this shirt Auntie Megan got J.J. "Good things come in small packages."
And look who is too tired to open his gift at Auntie Kristi and Uncle Steve's house?!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
